Recipe Amounts in Cups
Asked by fnpowers. Answered on 27th April 2015
Full question
I don't know how to convert grams to American cups, tablespoons, teaspoons, etc. Grams don't convert to ounces easily. I'd like to try some of Nigella's recipes, but can't translate the amounts. Can you help?
Our answer
Nigella's books have been published in the US and are converted for cups and ounces for those editions. The website has a special toggle button for Nigella's own recipes which allows you to switch between metric and cup/imperial measures very easily. You will see the blue toggle button (which says "switch to cup measures") at the top of the ingredients list.
The website also includes lots of Community Recipes that have been contributed by website members. These recipes may be in metric or in cups/imperial, depending on the measurements entered by the contributor. For these recipes there is a toggle button that will convert the ingredients to imperial (ounces) weights and volumes.
