What would the four bananas weigh (in ounces) for the Banoffee Cheesecake? I have some frozen ones I would like to use.
Nigella's Banoffee Cheesecake (from KITCHEN) is made using overripe bananas. The four medium bananas should weigh approximately 500g (18 ounces) with their skins on. If you have frozen them without the skins then you need approximately 380g (14 ounces or 1½ cups of mashed banana).
It is important that all of the ingredients for the cheesecake batter are at room temperature, so that the cheesecake has a smooth and luxurious texture once it has been baked. If you are using frozen bananas, make sure that they are completely defrosted and let them stand until they reach room temperature before using them.
