The minute mum and I saw the competition we couldn't help but get stuck in to baking! Such a simple cake to prepare and our excitement rose simultaneously with the meringue in the oven! Topped off with mum's homemade strawberry jam, delicious fresh strawberries from the garden and sweetened cream, it wasn't long before half the cake was scoffed! Such a summery treat!
