Lily's Scones straight out of the oven and awaiting their simple adornment of strawberry jam and double cream. Didn't have shortening so increased butter as per recipe. Dough rolled slightly thinner than the 3cm suggested but still rose well. Hadn't got Cream of Tartar as per recipe so skipped. Added a touch of milk to the egg as I had yolks left to use up after making a Pav. Great recipe, I was under pressure from family to provide scones as first day of our holiday at home. It delivered!
