The kitchen is where I feel I'm really taken most seriously by my sons. I often dress up boring life lessons as 'helping me' cook something so that I can corner them (lovingly) and surreptitiously dispense what I feel is sage, motherly advice. I think having a cheesecake to eat together at the end of such can only help the memory of my teachings stick all the more. Even if only to the hips!
