Meet my joyful Christmas rascals (or is it a moon and two stars?) The cookie on top should be kind of lacy for a most delicate treat. Confectioner's sugar is overrated (I think). There are two traditional pastries of similar type: Linzer Cake is characterized by its grid design. Then, there is a South German-Swiss-Austrian cookie called "Spitzbuben" (literally "rascals" or "spies"). The latter are irresistible for a display of fun and joy.
