Made for my lovely mum for her birthday who loves both Guinness and chocolate so what can go wrong really...? One wok pan down, ready for the bin and almost being sacked from work from falling asleep at my desk due to lack of sleep from attempt number three which lasted well past 2am, not to mention the hangover from drinking a lot of Guinness in the making. I finally succeeded in making Nigella’s lovely and simple recipe. All worth it for the look on my mums face when I unveiled the master piece and the laughs about the struggle and determination to get it right. Thankfully I chucked out the first mixture including the pieces of Teflon from the wok...near escape from poisoning my entire close family. Thanks for the recipe Nigella...lesson learnt, don’t use a wok instead of a pan...RIP wok.
