It has been a longtime plan and I made the decision to make it for St Patrick's day this year. The kitchen in the flat we're living now is not well-equipped with baking tins. I had only an Ikea Sockerkaka silicone baking mold which determined the shape of my cake. And because of its shape I decided to make less thick icing and let it drip off a little bit on the side of the cake, just like the froth of the Guinness drips off from the top of the glass. I decorated my Guinness cake with three, handmade sugar paste shamrock leaves to commemorate the Irish saint.
