This month’s Cookalong is Nigella’s recipe for Devil’s Food Cake, a creation that is perfect for Hallowe’en, or just as a treat on any day of the week! It is a rich and dark layer cake, with a luscious icing that sandwiches the middle and sides of the cake. Do read Nigella’s advice in the additional notes and make the icing first if it helps - the gooey frosting becomes a bit firmer after an hour or so, making it better for your decorating. And, lastly, do give your cake a Hallowe’en look if you like, it’s up to you though - leave your cake unadorned if tricking and treating isn’t your thing!
