This is a chocolate and almonds cake, the name cames from the Capri island

Ingredients

Metric Cups
  • 200 grams sugar
  • 5 large eggs (free range)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 200 grams ground almonds (blanched, lightly toasted)
  • 50 grams ground hazelnuts (lightly toasted)
  • 250 grams butter (melted and cooled)
  • 200 grams dark chocolate (70% cocoa, melted)
  • gram liquore strega (1 small glass)
  • 1 teaspoon almond essence
  • 7 ounces sugar
  • 5 large eggs (free range)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 7 ounces almond meal (blanched, lightly toasted)
  • 2 ounces hazelnut meal (lightly toasted)
  • 9 ounces butter (melted and cooled)
  • 7 ounces bittersweet chocolate (70% cocoa, melted)
  • gram liquore strega (1 small glass)
  • 1 teaspoon almond essence

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 160°
  • Beat the sugar and butter until pale and creamy, add 1 egg yolk at time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Add the melted butter, ground almonds and hazelnuts, the liqueur and the melted chocolate. Mix well.
  • Beat stiff the egg whites with a pinch of salt and add to the mixture, folding gently.
  • Line a cake tin with wet greaseproof paper, pour the cake mixture in it and cook for 40 minutes.
  • When cooked cool on a cake rack and dust with icing sugar
