Full question
Nigella’s Lamb Koftas are cooked in a frying pan with oil. Could they be air fried instead? If so, for how long? Thanks
Our answer
Nigella's Lamb Kofta With Garlic Sauce (from AT MY TABLE) are a combination of ground lamb, garlic, onion, herbs and spices. This mixture is formed into small patties and once cooked the koftas are served with a sauce made from yogurt, garlic and mint.
We suspect that it would be possible to cook the koftas in an air fryer instead of shallow frying them. After the kofta have chilled, brush them with a little olive oil and you might also like to brush some oil on the base of your air fryer basket to prevent the koftas from sticking. Put the koftas in a single layer in the basket; you may need to cook them in two batches. Cook at 200c (400F) for 10-12 minutes, or until the koftas are cooked though. You can carefully turn the koftas halfway though the cooking time to help them to brown evenly. Check the koftas are completely cooked though before serving.
