Our answer

Nigella's Lamb Ribs With Nigella And Cumin Seeds (from SIMPLY NIGELLA) are ribs taken from the breast area of the lamb. They are tossed in a combination of soy sauce, garlic and spices and roasted in a moderate oven for 1 1/2-2 hours, until the fat has become crisp and the meat is tender.

It may be possible to cook the ribs in an air fryer, but we doubt that most air fryers would be able to accomodate this quantity of ribs as they should not be stacked and need to be laid out in a single layer. Also, please bear in mind that some fat will render out during cooking, so make sure the drip tray in the base of your air fryer is deep enough to accomodate this (and clean it after cooking the ribs!). Unfortunately, using an air fryer will not speed up the cooking time as the long cooking time is needed to make the meat tender. If you blast the ribs in an air fryer then the meat will just be tough and chewy. As air fryers have very strong fans, it is probably better to reduce the oven temperature slightly more than for a normal fan oven, and we would suggest 110c or 120c (230-250F). Check the ribs every 30 minutes and once the meat is tender then you could always turn the heat up for a few minutes just to brown and crisp the outside. However, please note that as we have not tried cooking the ribs in an air fryer ourselves, we are unable to guarantee the results and feel that an oven is probably better if you are cooking the full quuantity of ribs.
