London Cheesecake Made Ahead

Asked by Nicscooking. Answered on 8th April 2021

Full question

I love the London Cheesecake, it is so delicious. How long can I make this in advance, and if I make it in advance and freeze it, will it taste the same?

Our answer

Nigella's London Cheesecake (from HOW TO BE A DOMESTIC GODDESS) is a baked cheesecake with a sour cream topping. The cheesecake will keep for a total of 4 days in the fridge, so if you are making it in advance then we would suggest making it up to two days ahead, to allow some time for leftovers to be eaten too.

The cheesecake can be frozen as long as it has been made with full-fat cream cheese and there should be no difference in taste. Cool the cheesecake and refrigerate it until cold, then wrap the cheesecake tightly, still in its tin, in a double layer of food wrap and a layer of foil and freeze for up to one month. Thaw overnight in the fridge and eat within 2 days.
