Nigella's Almond And Orange Blossom Cake (from HOW TO EAT is a damp and aromatic cake that can be made in gluten-free form. The cake is flavoured with almond extract, fresh orange and orange blossom water.
Nigella uses unsalted butter and does not use salt as the cake is already very fragrant. However, adding salt is a matter of personal taste and if you want to add a small amount of salt then that is fine. If you are adding salt then we suggest adding it when you add the first egg. We would suggest not adding more than 1/2 teaspoon, so that the cake is not too salty.
