Full question
What size bowl does the Anglo-Italian Trifle need - preferably in litres. Is 4 litres large enough?
Our answer
Nigella's Anglo-Italian Trifle (from NIGELLA SUMMER) gets its Italian influence from the limoncello and the tiramisu-style cream that is made from whisked eggs and mascarpone.
The bowl in the photograph is unfortunately no longer available but it is actually slightly wider and shallower than most trifle bowls now available. We would suggest that you use the biggest bowl that you have. Most trifle bowls seem to be 22cm-30cm (9-12 inches) in diameter and 3-4 litres (12-16 cups) in capacity, and we suspect that any within this size range would be fine for the trifle.
