I followed the cake recipe to the letter, but sandwiched two together to feed our hungry of family of six. I made a haunted mausoleum and gravestones using sugar paste, and added a stained glass gingerbread panel in the doorway for a spooky effect. I made skeletons using tempered white chocolate, and added white cocoa butter to make them appear more bone like in colour. I also piped the gates using a stiff royal icing. I dusted everything with some black dust to give a worn, grungy look. I didn't have a suitable backdrop, so I painted a simple watercolour moody night sky to finish off the look. I was delighted with the result!
