This was my first attempt at a trifle. It was a learning experience. I had to use lady fingers because trifle sponge is hard to find here in the US. I also overcooked the syrup and had to fix it by adding more water and straining out the crystals. In addition, I over whipped the double cream a bit. The trifle was very delicious. It had such lovely lemon grass notes in it. What a wonderful recipe!
