I saw this recipe in your cookbook 'Kitchen' years ago, and fell in love. The first time I made it, was for my husband's birthday a couple of years ago! Then I made it for my birthday. It is our go-to cake now. I make this as a two layered cake with the frosting in between as well and won't have it any other way. For me, this is THE cake for any mood....happy, sad, angry, depressed, celebratory, etc...given a choice, I will eat it straight off the plate. Each bite sends me into intense chocolate heaven. I love the combination of strawberries and dark chocolate so my version has fresh cut strawberries decorating the top.
