
A 9-inch cake seemed slightly too ambitious for just my flatmate and I, so I halved the batter and filled a 6-inch round springform (baked for an hour at 160°C fan). To intensify the chocolate flavour, I also added a teaspoon of espresso powder. I was impressed at how quickly it all came together in the saucepan, and my flatmate was even more impressed with the finished result.
