I turned to Nigella's Gingerbread recipe for my first time making gingerbread, and it was definitely the right choice! I'm a chocolate lover, so of course the fact that this was chocolate gingerbread made it that much better. I was nervous I messed up the recipe when I added the bicarb, but I kept going and ended up with delicious results for a friend gathering (and the friends asked for pieces to take home!)
