Nigella’s Beef Braised in Beer from my cherished copy of “How To Eat”. I made a few minor improvisations based on what I had on hand: non-alcoholic Guiness, a bulb of fresh fennel doing “anise”stand-in for celery, and a generous squish of tomato paste in place of the tomatoes. Seriously great, fool-proof way to make your home smell like a French provincial kitchen. Thank you, Ms. Lawson for teaching us the right way to eat :)
