Although ‘Cancer Cookbook’ may not be the most alluring title, this book, from The Royal Marsden hospital, is what I urgently want to draw your attention to. Not only are the recipes within written especially to give a nutritious boost during and after cancer treatment, half the proceeds of any sale goes to directly to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. All of us who contributed have chosen recipes to give pleasure to anyone eating them, and thus they can be relied upon to feed friends and family; these are not old-fashioned ‘invalid’ meals. Food always has to taste good, not just do you good. To give you a taster, Watermelon, Avocado and Black Bean Tacos, Warm Chicken and Barley Salad, Date and Maple Syrup Flapjack, Chocolate and Beetroot Cake are just some of the recipes included. And it is an honour for me to have contributed my recipe for a golden Cauliflower, Garlic and Turmeric Soup. This is a cause very dear to my heart, and I warmly encourage you to support it.
