Easter 2020

I don’t know about you, but my concentration is shot to pieces at the moment. I mean, I’m at my desk everyday, but everything is taking six times as long. I’m slightly stunned by the idea - widely kicked around - that this time could usefully be spent reading the Great Books you never got round to, or starting that magnum opus of your own. If you are likewise, and feel that some unchallenging distraction might be helpful, I’m here to tell you that the nigella.com Easter Egg Hunt is now live. Every day, for the next 6 days, we’ll give you a clue that will lead you to one of the recipes on the site, which will have an Easter Egg on it. Collect all 7 eggs, and you will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a beautiful white glass Mosser cake stand from Sous Chef and a signed book of mine of your choice, and the 3 runners-up all get a signed book, too, though - as you will understand - I won’t be signing or sending books until the country is open again, so to speak. The competition is open to everyone everywhere: all you have to do is sign in - or sign up, if you’re not already registered - and take it from there! Happy hunting!

If you fancy a bit of edible egg work in the kitchen, may I draw your attention to my Easter Nests, pictured above? They’re perfect to make if you have little helpers at home - who I’m sure will be very glad to do some quality-control sampling of the ingredients along the way. And, on the bigger scale, there’s my Easter Egg Nest Cake - which happens to be this month’s Cookalong. Do join in if you can.
