Sauteed chicken strips with sour cream and cheese wrapped in a warm tortilla.

Ingredients

Serves: 4-6

Metric Cups
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 small red chilli (finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 500 grams chicken breasts (cut into thin strips)
  • 1 small red onion (cut into thin strips)
  • ½ small red pepper (cut into thin strips)
  • ½ small green pepper (cut into thin strips)
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sweet chilli sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
  • 6 flour tortillas
  • cheese (grated)
  • sour cream
  • 1 clove garlic

  • ½ small red bell pepper (cut into thin strips)
  • ½ small green bell pepper (cut into thin strips)
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sweet chile sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
  • 6 flour tortillas
  • cheese (grated)
  • sour cream

Method

  • Fry the garlic and chilli in the oil until aromatic
  • Add the chicken, onion and capsicum and cook over a high heat.
  • When chicken is cooked through, add the sauces and stir through.Reduce to a low/moderate heat.
  • Let simmer while heating your tortillas in accordance with packet instructions.
  • Sprinkle some cheese (whatever qty you like) in the centre of a tortilla, leaving enough room at the bottom.
  • Add some chicken mixture and top with sour cream.
  • Fold the bottom of the tortilla up and then fold the left side over to the right and turn over onto your serving plate. Hint: They give directions on how to fold a tortilla on the back of it's packet.

    • Just tried this for dinner, but replaced the hoisin (which I don't know what is…) and soy sauces for lime juice, and the sour cream for Philadelphia cream cheese. Yum! So delicious! :D
