Dad's Chili

Introduction

I'm sharing a simple but delicious chili for everyone to enjoy.

Ingredients

Serves: Makes 12 servings.

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 can kidney beans (with liquid)
  • 1 can pinto beans (with liquid)
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • 2 diced chile
  • 1 stick diced celery
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1½ teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 cups water

Method

  • Brown ground beef, drain off fat.
  • In a large pot, combine beef plus remaining ingredients, and bring to a simmer over low heat.
  • Cook for 2 to 3 hours stirring every 15 minutes. .
  • Additional Information

    For spicier chili add more black pepper.
