Fudge Iced Sticky Cake

To make cake: sieve flour, and melt butter, syrup, sugar & milk in a pan, stirring all the time. Do not allow to boil. Remove from heat, stir bicarb of soda quickly into syrup mixture. Gradually add the melted mixture and beaten egg to dry ingredients. mix well. Pour mixture into well greased tin. Bake for approx. 45-60 mins in slow oven. White fudge icing: melt butter with some milk, do not boil. Beat into confectioners' sugar, Cool and beat again before using. Spread icing on cake & decorate with back of fork. Enjoy!

Ingredients
Serves: 6-8
For the Cake
- 8 ounces all-purpose flour
- 4 ounces butter
- 3 ounces sugar
- 1 egg
- ½ pint milk
- 6 ounces golden syrup or light corn syrup
- ¼ ounce baking soda
For the Icing
- 227 confectioners' sugar
- 57 buttermilk (as required)
