Ingredients

Serves: 4

Metric Cups

For the Sauce

  • 1 carrot (peeled, finely chopped)
  • 1 stick celery (chopped)
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons passata di pomodoro
  • 2 italian sausages
  • 200 millilitres passata di pomodoro

For the Crepes

  • 1 egg
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • milk
  • flour

For the Bechamel

  • flour
  • butter
  • milk
  • nutmeg (grated)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • white pepper
  • grated parmesan

For the Sauce

Method

Cannelloni (Stuffed Crepes) is a community recipe submitted by Curlylu and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • You have to prepare a sort of ragu but in this case it is faster than the original..you should cook the sausage with the vegetables in a pan with 2 tbs of evoo,then add the 2 tsp of pomodoro and cook few minutes.It must be a dry preparation. Let it cools.
  • Prepare the crepes making a runny batter with egg,milk,flour and salt. Sorry I don't how many crepes you will have,it depends on batter.
  • Prepare in another pan the liquid bechamel.
  • When everything is cooled prepare the cannelloni: put on a wide pan some tomato puree and then you will fill all crepes with the meat; roll them like sausages and put them in the pan.
  • When finished the crepes add some bechamel on the top, some grated parmesan cheese.
  • Put the cannelloni into an oven for 20 minutes at 180 and for last 5 minutes under the grill for the crust. Buon appetito!
