Ingredients

Serves: 2

Metric Cups
  • 500 grams pork belly slices
  • 1 red onion
  • 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato puree (heaped)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger (chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons soft dark brown sugar
  • 17⅔ ounces pork belly slices
  • 1 red onion
  • 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato puree (heaped)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh gingerroot (chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons soft dark brown sugar

Method

Quick and Cheap Bbq Pork is a community recipe submitted by Dodi and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Pre-heat oven to 200 C or equivalent.
  • Place pork strips in roasting dish with chopped onion between them. Place in oven.
  • After 30 mins, pour off any liquid in the roasting dish.
  • Mix remaining ingredients together and pour over the pork.
  • Place back in the oven for 30-40 mins basting the pork every 10mins or so until it is thick and sticky. Done!

    Have tried other cuts of pork, but needs to be belly or sauce doesn't stick properly. Anyway belly is cheap and luscious.
