Easiest to prepare. Can be prepared with leftover rice.


Serves: 2

  • 500 millilitres rice
  • 4 teaspoons grated coconut
  • 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 2 red chiles
  • 10 curry leaves
  • salt (to taste)

  • Grind freshly grated coconut, mustard seeds and turmeric powder. In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds and red chiles.
  • When the seeds start to crackle, add curry leaves. To this, add the ground mixture as of step 1. Add salt and rice and mix well. Turn-off the heat and add the lemon juice and mix well.
