This is lovely quick to do starter, and is not that expensive either, and is delicious (with this recipe, there will probably be enough prawns for a few more) and please do not put too much lard in.

Ingredients

Serves: 2-4

Metric Cups
  • 2 handfuls sesame seeds
  • prawns (a good helping)
  • lard
  • white bread
  • sunflower oil
  • 2 handfuls sesame seeds
  • shrimp (a good helping)
  • lard
  • white bread
  • vegetable oil

Method

Sesame Prawn Toast is a community recipe submitted by Howard and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Mix half to an oz of lard, with the prawns together.
  • Spread thickly onto the white bread.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds onto a large plate. Place bread prawn side down onto the sesame seeds.
  • Then place the prawn toast prawn side up into preheated oil in the wok. When golden brown, take out, and cut into fingers.
