Semolina Halwa

Introduction

Its a traditional Indian Sweetment, ready in 5 mins, tastes yum.....

Ingredients

Serves: 6-8

  • 1 cup semolina
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter / ghee
  • 1½ cups milk
  • 1½ cups water
  • 1 teaspoon green cardamom powder
  • 4 ounces mixed nuts (cashews and almonds are good)
  • 2 ounces raisins

Method

  • Heat Ghee in a deep pan, add the semolina and fry on low heat till it changes Colour *(around 5 Mins)
  • Add the milk and water, ignoring the spluttering, also add the sugar and cook. Cook on low flame until all the liquid dries up and the ghee starts separating.
  • Add the Cardamom Powder along with the Dry Fruits, fry for a 1-2 mins and serve.
