Metric Cups
  • 150 millilitres porridge oats
  • 150 millilitres flour
  • 3 teaspoons caster sugar
  • 100 grams butter
  • 5 small apples
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 shredded coconut
  • 5¼ fluid ounces quick-cooking oats
  • 5¼ fluid ounces flour
  • 3 teaspoons superfine sugar
  • 4 ounces butter
  • 5 small apples
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 shredded coconut

Method

  • For the "topping": Melt the butter and mix with the porridge oats, flour and sugar.
  • Peel the apples, take away the seeds and grate the apples.
  • Mix the apples with some coconut flakes and ginger and pour in a small baking tin of some kind.
  • Add the "topping" and bake in the oven for about 15 min at 225 degree Celsius.
  • Serve together with custard or ice-cream.
