Ingredients

Metric Cups
  • 500 grams minced beef
  • 75 grams onions (chopped)
  • 65 grams green peppers (deseeded, finely chopped)
  • 1 clove garlic (crushed)
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon dried chilli flakes
  • 125 millilitres tomato puree
  • 12 tacos
  • 1 salt
  • 1 pepper
  • 1 paprika (to garnish)
  • 1 red cabbage (shredded)
  • 1 sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 17⅔ ounces ground beef
  • 2⅔ ounces onions (chopped)
  • 2¼ ounces green bell peppers (deseeded, finely chopped)
  • 1 clove garlic (crushed)
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 4 fluid ounces tomato puree
  • 12 tacos
  • 1 salt
  • 1 pepper
  • 1 paprika (to garnish)
  • 1 red cabbage (shredded)
  • 1 sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon oregano

Method

Beef Tacos is a community recipe submitted by JillyB and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Put the minced beef in a frying pan and fry gently in its own fat until cooked and browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Pour off any excess fat.
  • Add onion, capsicum, and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally until softened. Stir in the oregano and spices and salt and pepper to taste then add the tomato puree and mix well.
  • Cover and cook for 10 mins, stirring occasionally.
  • Heat the taco shells in the oven (180C.)
  • Serve by spooning the mince mixture into shells and garnish with red cabbage, soured cream and paprika.
