My Oma was from Alsace Lorraine and these were the cookies she made every holiday season - they became a family tradition.
- 583 millilitres flour
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ kilogram butter (real butter - lightly salted if you can find it, if not then 1 stick of salted and 1 stick of unsalted butter)
- 250 millilitres sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
