Introduction

This chocolate cake recipe that my mom invented is delicious and mouth watering, I hope you all try it and enjoy it!

Ingredients

Serves: 8-10

  • 2½ cups self-rising flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup coca-cola
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup butter (or margarine)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla (or lemon zest)

Method

  • Preheat oven to 175 degrees C/350 degrees F. In a mixing bowl beat together the eggs and vanilla (or lemon zest) until fluffy.
  • In a separate bowl, beat softened butter (or margarine, if using) and sugar until white and fluffy.
  • Add the egg mixture.
  • Then mix in the flour, baking powder, baking soda and the unsweetened cocoa alternatively with the Pepsi (or Coke, if using), making the flour the last portion.
  • Spoon mixture into an 8 or 9-inch round cake pan and place in preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes. Bon Appetit!
