Ingredients

Metric Cups
  • 4 chicken breasts (cubed and skinned)
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 4 tablespoons plain yoghurt
  • 1 teaspoon fresh root ginger
  • 1 teaspoon garlic
  • 1 dash chilli sauce (hot)
  • 1 dash tomato sauce
  • 1 tub fresh cream
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli (to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon ground coriander
  • 30 grams butter
  • 4 chicken breasts (cubed and skinned)
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 4 tablespoons plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon fresh gingerroot
  • 1 teaspoon garlic
  • 1 dash chilli sauce (hot)
  • 1 dash tomato sauce
  • 1 tub fresh cream
  • 1 teaspoon red chile (to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 ounces butter

Method

Easy Butter Chicken is a community recipe submitted by shabiha and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Marinate chicken with all ingredients besides the fresh cream for 1 hour
  • Cook onion in butter until slightly pink in colour and let it cool completely
  • Once onion cooled add the marinated chicken to the pot
  • Cook the chicken for about 10 minutes stirring often
  • Once chicken is cooked add the fresh cream and let sauce thicken
  • To garnish add some fresh coriander and serve with fresh naan bread or cooked white basmati rice
