Wash the chopped dates and soak them in warm water. Pre-heat oven to 180 C. Mix butter, add sugar and beat well. Sift flour, soda, baking pd and semolina together. Beat in all the ingredients together and bake for 35 minutes after adding the dates and water.

- 1 cup chopped dried dates
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup semolina
- ½ cup butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
