Nigella Inspired Goat Cheese, Bacon and Pear Tart

Introduction

I was making Nigella's famous little croisants, but I bought the wrong puff pastry. The one I had to roll myself and had quite a big piece left over and I thought what would Nigella do with this. Here is the result I loved it.

Ingredients

Serves: 2-4

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (a big sheet)
  • goat's cheese
  • pear
  • 3 rashers bacon
  • 1 egg
  • salt (to taste)
  • pepper (to taste)

Method

  • Take the sheet of puff pastry and score a border with a knife.
  • Add cheese and pear slices inside your border.
  • Fry the bacon and add ontop.
  • Brush beaten egg around the outside boarder and place in 220 degree oven until the pastry is golden and puffed up
