Serves: 10-15 meatballs

Metric Cups
  • 500 grams minced beef
  • 1 garlic
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 slices bread
  • 1 fresh parsley
  • 1 salt
  • 1 pepper
  • 18 ounces ground beef

Method

Beef Meatballs of My Mom is a community recipe submitted by Vishinka and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  1. Soak slices of bread in milk. Squeeze the milk out.
  2. Mix together all ingredients in a food processor.
  3. With wet hands shape the mixture into medium-sized balls.
  4. Fry in a frying pan with some olive oil until they are nicely browned on all sides.
  5. Finish them baking in pre-heated oven at 180 C for 20 minutes. Add some olive in the bottom of the dish to keep them moist and tender.

My advice: you can use beef or pork or veal as meat. You can also add some grated cheese. Serve with spaghetti, rice or buckwheat.
