Ingredients

Serves: 8-10

Metric Cups
  • 250 grams cherries (fresh)
  • 75 grams sugar
  • 100 grams plain flour
  • 125 grams plain yoghurt
  • 15 grams butter
  • 75 grams ground almonds (or chopped)
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (or 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar)
  • 100 millilitres milk
  • 9 ounces cherries (fresh)
  • 3 ounces sugar
  • 4 ounces all-purpose flour
  • 4 ounces plain yogurt
  • 1 ounce butter
  • 3 ounces almond meal (or chopped)
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (or 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar)
  • 3½ fluid ounce milk

Method

  • Grease a deep 9 " round cake pan.. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
  • Arrange the cherries in the bottom of the pan.
  • Mix all ingredients together. Pour the batter into pan after mixing well.
  • Bake for 1 hour or till cooked, check with knife, if it comes out clean.
  • Cool for few minutes.
