Our answer

Nigella's Cocktail Sausages (from NIGELLA EXPRESS) are bite-sized sausages that are coated in a mixture of honey, sesame oil and soy sauce. Once cooked, they are a moreish combination of sweet and savoury.

We generally don't recommend reheating this type of recipe as the sausages are small and and can become dry and a little hard if cooked for too long. Also, the cooking time is 30 minutes, so you do not actually save that much time when you reheat them and reheating in a microwave is not recommended as sausages can spit out a lot of fat and they do not always heat evenly, particularly with a honey coating as this can become very hot before the sausages themselves have heated through. If you have to do some cooking in advance, then we would suggest part-cooking the sausages without the honey-soy glaze for about 10 minutes and then cooling as quickly as possible and chilling or freezing. If the part-cooked sausages are frozen then defrost overnight in the fridge before using. You can then put the sausages in a roasting pan, coat the part-cooked sausages in the glaze and cook for 20 minutes in the oven at 220c/200c fan/425F. You could also finish the part-cooked and glazed sausages in an air fryer for 15-20 minutes at 200c/400F, checking after 10 minutes and shaking the basket. We would suggest using a basket liner for easier cleanup and you may need to cook in two batches as the recipe uses quite a large number of cocktail sausages.
