Full question
The Bar Nuts recipe looks like it could work well in an air fryer - how would I adjust it to do that please?
Our answer
Nigella's Bar Nuts (from NIGELLA BITES) are warm, salty-sweet and slightly spiced nuts. They are ideal as a moreish accompaniment to pre-dinner cocktails. The nuts are toasted in the oven just before serving.
An air fryer is a small and powerful fan oven and you should be able to toast the nuts in an air fryer. However, ideally the nuts should be spread out in a single layer in the oven or air fryer, so you may need to cook them in two batches, depending on the size of the air fryer. Air fryers have a powerful fan and will cook more quickly than a regular fan oven, so we would suggest setting the air fryer to 150c/300F and start checking the nuts after 6 minutes, checking every minute after that, to make sure that the nuts toast but do not burn.
