Kitchen - Difference Between Uk and Us Editions?

Asked by springmielie. Answered on 21st March 2012

Full question

Hi there! My question is really simple - I would like to know if there is a difference between the USA and British "Kitchen" books? Does the one come in pounds and the other in grams or are the books the same and the ISBN numbers are just different? I just want to make sure before I buy the wrong book. Thank you.

Our answer

There is a difference between the UK and the US versions of Kitchen (and all of Nigella's books). The US books are converted into US measurements (cups, pounds, farenheit etc) and terms. Also very occasionally there are small changes in ingredients as some items that are easily available in the UK are not so common in the US.

We understand that particularly Australia it can be a little tricky as the US edition is often sold when the buyer may have wanted the UK version. The UK and US editions also have different publishers so it can help to check who has published the book.

UK edition - published by Chatto & Windus.

ISBN 9780701184605

US edition - published by Hyperion

ISBN 9781401323950
