I was wondering if Nigella makes her own mayonnaise or if she buys it?
Our answer
As a child one of Nigella's earliest cooking memories is of making mayonnaise with her sister and she includes a recipe in HOW TO EAT. Home-made mayonnaise is delicious, but it takes time and patience to make and a good quality store-bought mayonnaise is always a good option if you do not wish to make your own. Also as mayonnaise is made with uncooked eggs it may not be suitable to serve to everyone, so a store-bought mayonnaise can be a useful alternative.
Nigella has several recipes which include store-bought mayonnaise, including Quick Calamari With Garlic Mayonnaise, New Orleans Coleslaw and Tuna And Crab And Avocado Wraps.
