Hi, I am making the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake for someone's birthday at work. I need it for Tuesday, but wondered if I could make it on Saturday? Would it keep that long?
Nigella's Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake (from Kitchen and on the NIgella website) contains, like most baked cheesecakes, eggs and it is the eggs that tend to determine the keeping qualities of the cheesecake. The cheesecake will keep for 4 days in total so if you make it on a Saturday then it will still be fine to eat the cheesecake on Tuesday but any leftovers will only keep for one extra day.
We would also mention that the cheesecake should be kept chilled and should not be out of the fridge for more than 2 hours. This is due to the dairy and egg content of the cheesecake, though the cheesecake will also become soft and more difficult to cut if it it stands out of the fridge for too long.
