Sweet and Salty Crunch Nut Bars

Asked by nickgft. Answered on 25th July 2013

Full question

I have lost the recipe for some chocolate bars made with salted peanuts and Crunchie bars and cannot find it online now. Can you direct me to it please?

Our answer

The recipe you are looking for is called Sweet And Salty Crunch Nut Bars and it appears in Nigella's book Kitchen, on p310. It is a mixture of melted milk and plain (bittersweet) chocolate, butter and golden syrup (or corn syrup) mixed with salted peanuts and crushed Crunchie bars (or honeycomb or cinder toffee).

If you are in the US then the recipe can be found on the Food Network website. Unfortunately the recipe isn't currently on Nigella's website or the BBC website. However if you like this type of bar cookie then you can find some similar recipes on Nigella's website and we would suggest looking at either the Rocky Road Crunch Bars or the Christmas Rocky Road Crunch Bars.

If you live outside of the UK then it can be more difficult to find Crunchie bars, honeycomb or cinder toffee. Instead you could make up a batch of Nigella's Hokey Pokey (from Nigella Express and available on the website) and break this into small pieces to use.
