This is my 3rd time making this cake for Saint Patrick’s Day. Always a crowd pleaser! The Guinness Stout beer adds a subtle, caramel flavor and helps with the luscious moist texture. The best accomplishment for a dark chocolate cake is a tangy, silken cream cheese frosting. This one delivers a light billowy texture and isn’t overly sweet. No butter is added to the frosting, keeping it light and cream cheese-forward in its flavor. I have to admit adding 1 tsp vanilla and a pinch of fleur de sel and that quite handily guilds the proverbial lily! Thank you, Nigella, for this outstanding recipe.
