Butter Corn Rice

I was always looking to serve our guests something unique, something light and nice and my aunt came up with this yummy recipe, a substitute for heavy ghee rice.


Serves: 3-4

  • 250 millilitres basmati rice
  • 500 millilitres water
  • 1 tin sweetcorn
  • 57 grams butter
  • 2 teaspoons freshly ground pepper


Butter Corn Rice is a community recipe submitted by chaitanya and has not been tested by so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Wash the rice and put in a bowl.
  • Add the water, butter, corn salt and pepper. Place this in a normal cooker with a little water at the bottom and cook till it blows two-three whistles. Check after the second whistle if the rice is cooked, if not cook for some more time.
  • Mix it thoroughly before serving so that the corn is evenly spread.
  • Serve hot.

    You may use chopped veggies like beans carrots or peas.
