One of my all-time favourites! Great served with tea or for dessert with whipped cream. Also great for picnics and lunch boxes.
- 125 butter
- 250 granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 125 brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 250 buttermilk (or sour milk - for when you do not have buttermilk, add 1 tablespoon of vinegar to milk to sour it)
- 625 flour
- 500 apples (raw, chopped fine or grated)
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
