This was one of the first starters I made, at that point in life of sharing a girlie house and having dinner parties. Sure you must've seen loads of recipes already, but I love the tastes in this!

Ingredients

Serves: 4

Metric Cups
  • 4 large flat mushrooms (cleaned)
  • 1 ball mozzarella (chopped)
  • stilton cheese (half as much as the Mozzarella, chopped)
  • 12 large king prawns (cooked)
  • 1 packet watercress
  • 4 teaspoons olive oil
  • 4 large portobello mushrooms (cleaned)
  • 1 ball mozzarella (chopped)
  • stilton cheese (half as much as the Mozzarella, chopped)
  • 12 large king shrimp (cooked)
  • 1 packet watercress
  • 4 teaspoons olive oil

Method

Stuffed Mushrooms Starter is a community recipe submitted by Harvey Nicoll and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Put cleaned mushrooms on a grill pan stalk side up drizzle with olive oil. grill for a few minutes.
  • Alternatively pop them in the Microwave for a minute or two. Place three prawns on each mushroom then top with the Mozzarella and stilton.
  • Place under a hot grill under prawns completely hot, cheeses hot and bubbling.
  • Serve on bed of Watercress. Delicious!
